BÀ RỊA - VŨNG TÀU A new coffee roastery factory that meets international standards will be built at Phú Mỹ II Industrial Zone in the southern province of Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu by Highlands Coffee Service Joint Stock Company.

By investing nearly VNĐ500 billion (US$20.5 million) in the construction of Highlands Coffee roastery Factory, Highlands Coffee aims to enhance production capacity and demonstrate the company's dedication and core values.

Covering an area of up to 24,000 square metres, the factory could produce nearly 10,000 tonnes of coffee per year in its initial phase and up to 75,000 tonnes of coffee per year in the following phases. It is expected to be the leading large-scale coffee roastery facility in the province as well as in Việt Nam.

Highlands Coffee roastery Factory will be equipped with a modern and integrated production line, following the standards of the FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and HACCP food safety systems. Notably, the construction of the factory will meet strict environmental protection requirements, aiming to achieve Gold LEED Certification for "green architecture" according to international standards and BRC (British Retail Consortium) certification.

"This will be a modern, state-of-the-art factory, that uses the best in breed international equipment combined with a manufacturing design that embraces Vietnamese blending and flavouring processes. With an ambition to grow to thousands of stores in Việt Nam and beyond, this factory will be a pillar for our ambition of championing Vietnamese coffee culture. Because, bringing the best of Việt Nam to our local communities and to the world is our 'why'. This is our mission. This our identity,” said Founder and CEO of Highlands Coffee, David Thai, at the groundbreaking ceremony of Highland Coffee roastery Factory on Friday.

Highlands Coffee was established in 1999 with the ambition of elevating Việt Nam’s long-standing coffee heritage and promoting a sense of national pride, while harmoniously connecting tradition and modernity.
