Painting exhibition celebrates National Reunification Day

ĐÀ NẴNG — A collection of 43 paintings by 37 artists from the central city’s Fine Arts Association officially opened to the public at Đà Nẵng’s Fine Art Museum from April 16th to May 16th.

The museum said the exhibition, organised by the association, the Đà Nẵng City’s Advertisement Association and collector Lê Quang Khải, is held to mark the 49th anniversary of the country’s Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day.

It said four young artists (under-40) will be given awards from the city’s Fine Arts association for their contributions to the city’s fine arts activities and programmes over past years.

Artists depict the beauty of the land and people, landscapes and moments on their free adventures throughout the country.

Most of the oil, wood carvings, acrylic and lacquer paintings depict the peaceful life in rural area, mountainous lifestyle, dreams of beautiful lives among farmers and labourers, or natural landscapes.

The exhibition offers free entrance to all visitors at 78 Lê Duẩn Street.

The museum, the only one of its kind in the Central and Central Highlands region, also has exhibition spaces for contemporary fine arts, sculptures and paintings, introducing Đà Nẵng past and present, as well as collections of famous Vietnamese artists and donations from Japan and European collectors and artists.
