HÀ NỘI — A painting contest entitled My Beloved Doctors kicked off in Hà Nội last week.
It is the first contest co-organised by Family Medical Practice (FMP) Hà Nội and Art Tree Studio.
As part of celebrations for Children’s Day (June 1), it aims to encourage children and youngsters to share their artistic talents, express their love for life, and most of all, get their creativity and imagination flowing.
Artistic creation fosters a child’s intellectual and motor skills development. From small scribbles to complex sketches, drawing helps a child learn perseverance and motivation to complete a task. Additionally, colours can enhance children’s feelings about the world around them. Through art, they can express their thoughts and visualisation of their own world with freedom and creativity.
The contest is open to all children under 12 years old who have been treated by FMP Hà Nội.
Competitors can submit up to two entries.
Drawings and paintings should demonstrate the artist’s impressions about a doctor or medical worker they love, a familiar or trusted medical centre, anything that makes them feel a connection with their carers or what they wish to become in the future.
The entry deadline is June 21. An awards ceremony will be held at the end of June with 22 prizes. Twelve of the most outstanding entries will be published in the 2020 calendar by FMP Hà Nội.
Total prize money of VNĐ50 million (US$2,137) is up for grabs, including one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, six fourth prizes and 10 runners-up prizes.
Eligible entries must be original artworks with author’s signature. Backside of the artwork shall indicate details, name of the painting, painter’s name, address and contact information (contacts of parents or guardians).
Entries can be submitted at FMP Hà Nội or by postal service to Marketing Department, 4th floor, FMP Hà Nội, Diplomatic compound, 298I Kim Mã, Ba Đình, Hà Nội.
Original artworks will not be returned.
