Champions of the Men’s Over 35’s, this year belonged to Singapore Barbarians team.
HCM City — Last weekend, the Wolf Blass Saigon Rugby 10’s Season 3 was held successfully by the Al Fresco’s Group (AFG) at RMIT, Dist. 7, HCMC.
The tournament is hosted and managed by the AFG, the Castelo Group HK and Wolf Blass Wines are now the official naming rights partner for 3 years from 2017-2019.
This year's tournament attracted 27 teams and 450 players from 10 countries such as Malaysia, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thai Lan, Singapore, Australia etc. These teams competed, in 3 divisions, Vets Men Over 35’s, Women’s 10’s and Grade A Mens 10’s.
This year's Grade A Mens champion team was Singapore Barbarians and the runner up was Bangkok Southerners with final score of Singapore 28 - Bangkok 0.
Champions of the Men’s Over 35’s, this year belonged to Singapore Barbarians team and KK Sharks, Malaysia, were the runner ups for this division. While Singapore Bucks were named Women’s Championship of the Wolf Blass Saigon 10’s Season 3, the first runner up of this division belonged to the ladies of the Shining Rahus, from Cambodia.
The tournament was well organized, with free entrance for all spectators and attracted a large number of expats living in Ho Chi Minh City. Thao Trang singer and her family were present at the stadium and enjoy the event very much. Everyone had enjoyable Saturday and Sunday full of fun activities with family and friends. Children enjoyed the bouncy castle and bucking bull, balloon art on site, .. while adults enjoyed the exciting rugby games at RMIT HCMC Uni stadium plus great food and beverage from AFG and their sponsors.

The aim of the Wolf Blass Saigon 10’s is to put Saigon firmly on the map as a destination in Asia to play rugby and have a fantastic time doing it.
Mr. Nick Dance, a player of Singapore Barbarians said “This is the second year I came and played in this tournament. It is the best tournament I have ever known. Everything is great from location, food, medical care, parties…. We have a lot of fun during the tournament. It is awesome. We look forward to the 2018 Wolf Blass Saigon Rugby 10’s tournament next year”
The success of this tournament helps AFG continue to build a new and exciting rugby platform in Vietnam.
