HA NOI — The Vincom Centre for Contemporary Art (VCCA) in Ha Noi will host the two solo exhibitions tomorrow, Bicycles by Vietnamese-born French artist Tran Thu Van, and Ellipses by Ha Manh Thang, a prominent Vietnamese artist.
Bicycles is Van’s first solo installation exhibition in Viet Nam. All of her work in this exhibition is brand new. Inspired by a song from the artist’s childhood, the exhibition contains self-identification and history of the artist, as well as the desire to create a fictional world.
Ellipses presents new work from Thang, inspired by poems from the Middle Age Chinese poets Li Bai and Du Fu. His work has the features of Western modern art, yet still holds an Asian spirit.
Both exhibitions will run until February. VCCA is located on level B1, Block R3, Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, 72A Nguyen Trai Road, Thanh Xuan District. — VNS
