HÀ NỘI - LiveSpace Mini Fest 2022 features an array of young indie bands battling it out for a chance to take their careers to the next level on October 21 and 22.
The shows will be the last chance for artists to show their performing skills and unique music styles before the competition winners are announced on October 24.
This is a part of the LiveSpace Vietnam programme launched by the French cultural centre L'Espace, the Monsoon Music Festival, French music distributor Believe, and Thể Thao & Văn Hóa (Sports and Culture) newspaper.
The programme aims to discover talented local singers and music bands, helping them to develop a music career.
The bands vying for glory include Những Gã Mộng Mơ, Abyxx, Bột Màu Khoai Tây Cà Rốt, Chú Cá Lơ, Đá Số Tới, Limebócx, Lope Dope, Mạc and the Odd Stones, Mèow Lạc, Những Đứa Trẻ, Phách Ca, and Xanh 8+1.
Những Đứa Trẻ (Children) was formed in 2015 and produces interesting and dynamic compositions, drawing its inspiration from the events that have occurred in the lives of its members.
The powerful melody of alternative rock/punk rock music and the rough but experienced sounds of electric guitars, bass and drums make an energic harmony that is not afraid to experiment.
Established in 2017, Limebócx make its own way by combining modern elements with folk tunes.
The combination of modern electronic music, hip-hop and beatboxing with Vietnamese traditional đàn tranh (zither) makes Limebócx's compositions a harmony of past and present.
Chú Cá Lơ (True Colour) was formed in 2019. The band name is a fun way to pronounce 'true colour' in English. Their music is full of fresh and vibrant melodies.
Chú Cá Lơ wants to go all out with its own style without getting involved in the flow of the mainstream music market.
The Mac and the Odd Stones band is seen on stage.
LiveSpace Mini Fest 2022 is an opportunity for music lovers to meet 12 young bands that have performed at four concerts within the framework of LiveSpace Vietnam.
Exclusive compositions that 12 bands have recorded with the support of LiveSpace Vietnam were voted on by the public between October 7 to 14.
Voting results will be one of the important criteria in deciding the winning band. The jury, consisting of representatives from the main partners of the programme and L'Espace members, will conduct the evaluation based on performances by artists at the past four concerts and the two upcoming shows.
The works will be evaluated and scored through specific evaluation criteria. The winning band will receive support from LiveSpace Vietnam and partners to continue to develop their careers and contribute to the development of the Vietnamese music industry. - VNS
