HA NOI — A contest entitled Travelling with the Backstreet Boys has been launched to publicise the US pop band's first live show in Ha Noi and HCM City later this month.
Contestants should send video clips of them performing their most favourite Backstreet Boys songs to organisers of the website www.bsb.com.vn before March 15, concert organisers Water Buffalo Productions said.
The judges, music composers Ho Hoai Anh and Luu Thien Huong, will select the best four clips for the final round, based on performing style, confidence, creativeness and voice.
Audience favourites will also be selected, Anh said.
First prize would be VND10 million (US$478) plus a ticket to the show and a CD with the group's signatures. Second prize would be VND5 million ($239) plus a ticket. Other free tickets and prizes also will be awarded.
Results of the contest will be announced at http://contest.bsb.com.vn.
Water Buffalo Productions said it expected 55,000 to attend each Backstreet Boys concert, one at Military Zone 7 Stadium in HCM City on March 24 and the other at the My Dinh National Stadium in Ha Noi on March 26.
The show is part of a world This Is Us tour by members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and A J McLean.
Tickets are on sale on line for between VND500,000 ($24) and VND2 million ($95) via the website www.bsb.com.vn.
