Dance festival for teenagers kicks off

HA NOI — A dance festival for children aged 8-15 will be held for the first time to encourage young people to take up dancing.

Nguyen Van Bich, chairman of the Viet Nam Dancers Association, announced the plan to organise the festival at a press briefing yesterday in Ha Noi.

The pieces will be performed in solo, duo and trio, with the participation of famous choreograpgers Tran Ly Ly, Tran Tuyet Minh and Excellent Artist Quynh Lan.

The festival focuses on folk, classic and traditional dance. The pieces portray the beauty of dancing art and are accompanied by Vietnamese music composed by Ho Hoai Anh, Le May and Quang Vinh as well as folk music.

The final round will take place on Saturday at the Kim Dong Cultural Centre, 19 Hang Bai Street, Ha Noi. — VNS
