HCM CITY — Fashion model Tạ Công Phát of Quảng Ngãi Province are joining in the Man of the World 2019 contest in the Philippines.
Phát, who is 1.86m tall and weighs 82kg, began his career as a fitness trainer in Quảng Ngãi.
He was first runner-up at the Việt Nam Fitness Model 2018, a national annual beauty contest for men and women in fitness.
Phát worked with fashion designers and fitness experts to prepare for the contest.
He also spent two months in training courses in English and catwalk and performance skills.
The Man of the World 2019 contest has attracted 35 men from around the world.
The contestants will be judged on knowledge and appearance. Their appearance will be based on physique and modern and traditional costumes.
The top 10 contestants will compete in the final on July 12.
Last year, fashion model Cao Xuân Tài of HCM City won the title after graduating from Đà Nẵng University of Gymnasium and Sports. — VNS
