HCM CITY — Travel agents will offer discounts of 10-50 per cent on domestic and foreign tours at HCM City Tourism Fair 2017 to be held from March 23-26 at Le Van Tam Park in District 1.
More than 80 tourism firms, travel agents, hotels and tourism promotion agencies from 39 cities and provinces will showcase their products and services at 180 booths.
Saigon Tourist is offering discounts on tour packages to visit sites used in the filming of the latest King Kong film, Kong: Skull Island, while Ben Thanh Tourist has launched a “buy one, get one” promotion.
Vietnam Airlines is offering discounts on domestic flights with fares of VND299,000 (US$13) per ticket, while a total of 1,000 entrance tickets to Cu Chi Tunnels will be given out to visitors.
For the first time, tourism start-ups run by young entrepreneurs will participate in the fair.
Tourism start-ups will introduce their business models using the latest technologies and exchange ideas about innovation with large travel firms.
Last year, sales of tour totalled VND40 billion (US$1.76 million), said La Quoc Khanh, deputy director of the city’s Department of Tourism, the fair’s organiser.
Tour sales are expected to soar this year due to an increasing number of participating firms as well as more promotions, according to Khanh. — VNS
