HA NOI — Four years after their break-up announcement, the five members of fan-favourite hard rock band Buc Tuong (The Wall) will reunite and get heavy once again.

"It's still in our hearts; we want to get back together and fan the flames of our music," said band leader Tran Lap.

Although the band got back together and began rehearsing almost a year ago, their return was announced only very recently.

"We didn't want to talk about our return to the stage until we made all of the necessary preparations," Lap said.

The band will choose the capital's 1,000th anniversary as their time to reunite. To celebrate this meaningful event, the band will sing Bai Ca Song Hong (The Red River's Song). The band's return will also coincide with the release of their fourth album, Ngay Khac (Another Day). The new album, which features more than 10 new songs, is more consistent than their previous works.

"We've replaced the complicated hard rock and metal chords with a more youthful modern rock style. We are still full of energy, but our style has evolved," Lap said.

Together with the album release, the band will also tour at the end of this year in Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang and HCM City.

The band's official website, www.buctuong.com, which hasn't been operated for over four years since the band's break-up, has also been reactivated and upgraded.

All of the band's members are very confident of this "come back", saying that they still know how to "dominate the stage".

Founded in 1994, the band is considered one of the most successful rock bands in Viet Nam, creating a large fan base and making an even larger impact on the Vietnamese rock scene.

The Wall rocked the nation for 12 years with other Vietnamese favourites like Da Vang (Yellow Skin), Thuy Trieu Do (Red Tide) and Microwave. The band is best known for the hits Bong Hong Thuy Tinh (Glass Rose) and Duong Den Ngay Vinh Quang (The Road to Glorious Days).

The band has released three previous albums: Tam Hon Cua Da (Stone's Soul), Vo Hinh (Invisible) and Nam Cham (The Magnet). — VNS
