HÀ NỘI — BIP of the United States defeated Đức Giang Hà Nội 3-0 during the second day of the VTV9-Bình Điền International Women's Volleyball Tournament in Kiên Giang Province's Rạch Giá City on Sunday.
BIP won 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.
In this year’s event, rookie Đức Giang Hà Nội hired two strong foreign players including Holly Toliver of the US who played for Jaamsa club of Peru last year and won the best server of Peru’s league; and Yeliz Basa of Turkey who has helped Nakhon Ratchasima win Thai-League 2019. But they couldn’t help the capital team win.
In another Group B match, Sichuan of China beat Lienvietpostbank 25-12, 25-19, 25-19.

The event attracted the participation of eight teams including four teams from the US, China and Thailand, competing in the round-robin format in the qualifying round.
In the final round, the first and second teams of each group will enter the semi-finals, and two winning teams will advance to the final while the two others will vie for the third place.
