HA NOI — As many as 64 international and domestic players will compete in the Binh Duong International Three-Cushion Billiards Tourney, which will be held in the National Conference and Exhibition of Binh Duong Province from August 16 to 18.
The competitors include Tran Quyet Chien (ranked 12 worldwide), Ngo Dinh Nai (ranked 17), Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (ranked 14) and defending champion of last year’s tourney Ma Minh Cam (ranked 24).
Besides, there will be five players from Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands. Among them, South Korean player Kang Dong Koong (ranked 23), won the 2015 tourney.
Doan Tuan Anh, head of Viet Nam billiards and snooker team, said the event is an opportunity for domestic players to exchange experience and skills, “I hope via this tourney, Viet Nam billiards will have more excellent players to compete internationally.”
A total of $12,845 prize money is on offer. The champion will receive $2,569, while the runner-up will get $1,284 and second runner-up $856. — VNS
