HA NOI — Sanna Khanh Hoa and Hai Phong both failed to score in their Premier League clash yesterday.

The game was held at the Nha Trang Stadium in Khanh Hoa Province.

Khanh Hoa controlled the game in the first half in front of their home fans, but still couldn’t manage to find the net.

They created many chances to have the opener but goalkeeper Dang Van Lam of Hai Phong was on top form, justifying his call up the Viet Nam national team for the Asian Games to be held in Indonesia next month.

After the break, host coach Vo Dinh Tan changed his tactics in search of an opener, but it was Lam on top form to keep the scores level.

With his impressive performances for Hai Phong, Lam is expected to be No 1 choice of South Korean coach Park Hang-seo for Viet Nam U23 team at the upcoming Asian Games in which Viet Nam will face Japan, Pakistan and Nepal in Group D.

On Saturday, Ha Noi FC came from behind to beat V.League 1’s runners-up FLC Thanh Hoa 3-2 at the Thanh Hoa Stadium.

With this win, the capital team top the league with 51 points, 17 points ahead of Sanna Khanh Hoa.

Thanh Hoa are in the fourth place, 21 points behind Ha Noi.

Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem of Ha Noi is confident that his team will win the title.

“We will win the league because as usual, teams only need 48 or 50 points, they will lift the trophy,” said Nghiem.

Elsewhere, Song Lam Nghe An defeated Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-1, Binh Duong crushed Da Nang 4-1 while Nam Dinh tied with Quang Nam 1-1. — VNS
