HA NOI — Nguyen Tan Hoai won the ninth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament yesterday.
Hoai of Dong Thap won the 100km stage from Pleiku City to Konplong District in a time of 2:37.30.
Nguyen Truong Tai of VUS-TP.HCM and Le Ngoc Son of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang were the runners-up.
Phan Hoang Thai of Calytos Dong Thap holds the red jersey as king of mountain with eight points, followed him by Hoai with six points.
Nguyen Van Duong retained his yellow jersey for best overall time of 19:30.25 after nine stages. Nguyen Quoc Bao of Calytos Dong Thap and Nguyen Minh Viet of BTV Dai Nam-Binh Duong are second and third, respectively.
The green jersey as best sprinter belonged to Le Nguyet Minh of HCM City with 45 points. Hoai and Huynh Thanh Tung of the Military Zone 7 are second and third with 42 points and 41 points, respectively.
In the team rankings, the Military Zone 7 lead with a time of 58:38.15. Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap and Bike Life DN follow the military team.
Today, cyclists will have a day off. Tomorrow, they will compete in the 10th stage from Ba To District to Quang Ngai City lasting 86km. — VNS
