HA NOI — Joshua Carrino won the fourth stage of the VTV International Cycling Tournament – Ton Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.
Carrino from Philippine Navy overtook his rivals in the final metres to take the 197km stage from Vinh City of Nghe An Province to Dong Hoi City of Quang Binh Province.
Huynh Thanh Tung of the Military Zone 7 and Ali Khademi of Loc Troi Group finished second and third, respectively.
Carrino holds the red jersey as the King of Mountain, while Nguyen Dac Thoi of Ha Noi leads the race and has the yellow jersey for best overall time.
Today, cyclists will compete in the fifth stage, a 10km individual time trial in Dong Hoi City.
The event attracted 80 cyclists from six domestic cycling teams and six from overseas clubs, competing over 14 stages covering 1,800km. They started from Ha Noi on September 2 and will finish in HCM City on September 16. — VNS
