VŨNG TÀU — Lương Thùy Linh and Hoàng Nguyên Thanh have been selected as ambassadors for the Strong Việt Nam marathon.
Thanh is a member of the national athletics team, while Linh was Miss World Việt Nam 2019. As ambassadors, they will play a crucial role in promoting the tournament to the sports-loving community, particularly those interested in marathon running.
Thanh currently holds the national marathon record, completing the 42km run in an impressive time of 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 43 seconds. This achievement broke athlete Nguyễn Chí Đông's 21-year-old record of 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 51 seconds.
Strong Việt Nam is a marathon aimed at encouraging participation in sports training and competition in general, with a specific focus on running. The event aims to contribute to improved health, a better quality of life, and the development of a healthy and active cultural environment.
"Strong Việt Nam is a prestigious running race organised in collaboration with the Việt Nam Athletics Federation and HCM City Athletics Federation. Prior to the tournament, I always set the highest goals and strive to do my best. With Strong Việt Nam, I hope to break my personal record," said Thanh.
Linh said: "Strong Việt Nam features a breath-taking route that passes through scenic coastal roads and famous tourist destinations. I am eagerly looking forward to reuniting with the runners on this route."
The race is scheduled to take place on September 20-22 in Vũng Tàu City, with more than 10,000 runners. The event will include various exciting activities. VNS
