HA NOI — The Mekong Delta chess and Chinese chess championship is scheduled to start on February 8 in the Dong Thap Province city of Cao Lanh.
The event will attract the participation of players from 13 provinces including Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
Participants will compete in men’s and women’s individual and team categories in age groups from seven to 15 and in professional events in standard, rapid and blitz categories in a round-robin format.
The event, which aims to select the best players for the national teams, will last until February 13. — VNS
