HA NOI — Vietnamese young talent and No 1 seed Nguyen Van Phuong won the second round of the VTF Pro Tour 200, Hung Thinh Cup 2019 in Binh Dinh Province yesterday.
Phuong of Becamex Binh Duong beat his teammate Dinh Viet Tuan Minh 6-1, 6-0.
Meanwhile No 2 seed Hoang Thanh Trung of Hai Dang Tay Ninh, got off to a good start after beating La Xuan Hau of Ha Noi 7-5, 1-0 (Hau retired).
Young player Nguyen Quang Vinh of Hung Thinh – HCM City, 14, continued to shine with a win of 6-2, 6-4 against No 7 seed Tu Ngoc Nhut of Becamex Binh Duong.
In the next game, Vinh will take on No 3 seed Nguyen Dac Tien of Ha Noi who beat his teammate Hoang Bao Long 6-0, 6-1. Phuong will face Cao Duong Dai of Becamex Binh Duong, while Trung will play Pham Minh Tuan of Hung Thinh – HCM City.
In the women’s doubles, the duo Ly Minh Anh and Nguyen Thu Phuong of Bac Giang beat Tran Thi Tra My and Lo Thi Duyen of Son La 6-0, 6-4.
Today, the event will continue with women’s singles and men’s doubles categories.
The event, which has attracted 55 players from six teams across the country, will end on April 7. VNS
