HA NOI — Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s striker Nguyen Cong Phuong’s goal into FLC Thanh Hoa’s net has been voted the best goal of the V.League 1 in May.
The goal received 5,793 votes, accounting 87.6 per cent of voters.
It was the long shot that bested the national U23 team’s star goalie Bui Tien Dung of Thanh Hoa.
The Nghe An-born player Phuong came out top over other outstanding goals by Le Sy Minh of Nam Dinh, Nguyen Trong Hoang of FLC Thanh Hoa, Wander Luiz of Can Tho and Nguyen Anh Hung of Hai Phong to take the lead.
Phuong’s only goal in the match on May 30 helped HAGL earn three points at away turf.
At present, Phuong has scored eight goals in all events this year. — VNS
