HA NOI — Le Thanh Tung and Dinh Phuong Thanh will represent Viet Nam at the 12th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Doha, Qatar on March 20-23.
Tung, who won gold at the World Challenge Cup ART in Slovenia last year, will take part in the men’s vault and parallel bar events.
The SEA Games winner failed to make an impact at the World Cup in Azerbaijan last week due to an ankle injury.
However, he said he would be ready for the Doha tournament.
World Cups are used as Olympic qualifiers. High-ranking athletes will collect points to qualify for the Summer Games.
The Doha competition will welcome a record 58 countries and a total of 230 athletes. — VNS
