HA NOI — Five Vietnamese will attend a hockey coaching course in Singapore on December 8-12 to become Viet Nam’s first hockey coaches.

They are Luu Phan Lap Luong, Huynh Dai Phuc, Nguyen Le Quang, Ly Kim Long and Nguyen Lam Phuc.

"For the first time in the history, we will have our own qualified Vietnamese hockey coaches to train more hockey coaches to develop it in Viet Nam. This is an important step for the growth of Viet Nam hockey," said James Chew, CEO of the Viet Nam Hockey Federation.

The course is accredited by the Asian Hockey Federation and the International Hockey Federation.

Hockey has been played in Viet Nam for more than 10 years and Viet Nam has a national men’s hockey team. — VNS
