HCM CITY — Visitors can view bird species as well as glowing stalactites in a cave at the Natural Thung Nham Bird Park in the northern province of Ninh Bình.
The Thung Nham ecotourism zone is part of The Tràng An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is located in Ninh Hải Commune in Hoa Lư District, about 12km from the center of Ninh Bình Town.
Entrance tickets to the zone cost VNĐ100,000 (US$4.3) for adults and VNĐ50,000 ($2.1) for children 0.8 - 1.3m tall. Visitors have to pay extra if they want a boat ride.
For VNĐ20,000 (86 US cents) per turn, visitors can travel in a boat along the 500m length of the cave, holding flashlights to look at stalactites and other features.
From HCM City, visitors can take a flight to Ninh Bình for less than one hour or a train for seven to 12 hours.
Besides taxi services, motorbikes for rent are also available at around VNĐ150,000 a day. — VNS
