Short filmmaking contest launched for Vietnamese youth

 HA NOI — Viet Nam Television has launched a short filmmaking contest,“My Dream”, for Vietnamese youth aged 15-30.

The contest, meant for young people passionate about filmmaking, will provide an opportunity to the youth to express their creativity.

The contest includes all genres of film, ranging from musical and comedy to horror and animation. The duration is 15 minutes. There are two eligibility criteria: the film should not have been produced earlier than 2017, and it should not have been aired on Viet Nam Television.

The winner, decided by judges, will receive a cash prize of VND50 million (US$2,100). The best film, voted by the audience, will win a cash prize of VND20 million ($870).

The panel of judges includes three prestigious directors – Do Thanh Hai and Khai Anh, well-known for television films, and Vu Ngoc Dang, famous for theatrical films.

Other judges include actors Hoang Dung, Ly Thai Dung, Viet Anh and Hua Vi Van, actress Nha Phuong and journalist Diem Quynh.

The contest is open until July 14. — VNS
