HA NOI — Manzi Art Space will host a world music night featuring Di Thuc or The Transplanted – a fusion group bringing together six musicians from Morocco, Viet Nam, France and Australia.
Working together in Morocco and in Viet Nam over the past year, the group has prepared a unique repertoire for several shows in Viet Nam this April, drawing on traditional music from Morocco, France and Viet Nam, as well as original compositions combining these and other world music influences.
The Transplanted consists of gumbri (a three-stringed bass instrument) artist and singer Amine Fikri from Morocco, contrabass artist Vincent Fabre from France, guitarist David Payne from Australia, percussionist and singer Abdeslam Ziou from Morocco, Vietnamese artists Dam Thai Ha on hammered dulcimer and lute and Ha Dinh Huy on percussion.
Their performance at Manzi will start at 8pm Friday. Manzi is at 14 Phan Huy Ich Street. Tickets coct VND100,000 per person. Due to limited seating capacity, please email manzihanoi@gmail.com to reserve seats. — VNS
