HÀ NỘI — Hoàng Thùy Linh won four awards including Singer of The Year to make history at the 15th Devotion Musical Awards.

Linh's song Để Mị Nói Cho Mà Nghe (Let Me Tell) won Song of The Year and Best Music Video, and her album Hoàng picked up Album of The Year.

"It's like a dream. I don't believe it is real," Linh said.

"The Devotion Musical Awards are the dream of many artists including me. I admire the winners. A few years ago, when I was performing on stage at the ceremony, I imagined winning a prize. I've tried hard to make my dreams into reality."

Để Mị Nói Cho Mà Nghe was composed by DTAP about a young girl who loves freedom and doesn't want to get married at a young age. The lyrics are funny and inspire listeners to sing along.

The music video for Để Mỵ Nói Cho Mà Nghe was released last June by director Nhu Đặng. It uses classical literary works such as Lão Hạc (Old Man Hạc), Tắt Đèn (Turning Off Light) and Vợ Chồng A Phủ (A Phủ Couple).

This is the second time Đặng has won the Best Music Video category. He was honoured in 2016 for Thật Bất Ngờ.

The album Hoàng also won the producers – the DTAP – the Producer of the Year award. Launched last October, Hoàng is a unified concept album about a young woman who experiences many ups and downs in her life.

Musician of The Year went to Phan Mạnh Quỳnh for his work last year. Quỳnh wrote songs for Hà Anh Tuấn's show Truyện Ngắn (Short Story). His music video Nhạt (Insipid) has reached 2,000,000 views on Youtube

At the 15th awards, the judges were forced to decide the winner of Best Show after Hà Anh Tuấn's Truyện Ngắn (Short Story) and Tân Nhàn's Trở Về (Return) were tied in the vote, and Tân Nhàn came out on top.

"It is difficult to express my feelings about the award for my show," said Nhàn.

"First, I want to dedicate the award to my crew who helped me on the show."

The other awards for New Artist and Best Music Programme went to Trần Huyền My (Amee) and HOZO International Music Festival in HCM City.

This year the award ceremony was not held due to COVID-19. — VNS
