HCMCITY— The HCM City Fine Arts Association will open a special exhibition featuring ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) next week.
More than 50 designs from a collection of ao dai, called Mo Hoang (Wild Dream), made and painted by artist Ha Hung Dung, will be displayed.
Many photos and paintings of ao dai by Dung and his colleague, female artist Tran Thien Thanh, will also be included.
“We hope visitors can learn more about Vietnamese women and their role through our art,” said Dung, who has several years of experience in painting women and ao dai.
The event will be raising funds to help 500 poor children living in mountainous areas in the north.
It will open every day from 9am to 6pm from September 4-10 at 218A Pasteur Street in District 3 .— VNS
