HA NOI — Alexandre Dang, an artist from France, is holding a multimedia site-specific exhibition on new perceptions linked with topics such as energy, movement and environment in Ha Noi.

The installation entitled Dancing Solar Flowers invites the public to rethink ways to perceive not only the environment people live in but also the human role and its relationship with nature.

The exhibition includes "solar paintings" and "solar drawings", which are new solar artworks by artist Dang.

The artist has also developed participant pieces allowing the public to express their artistic side. The participant pieces are a blank canvas on which only a stalk has been drawn. The public can give life to the stalk by drawing their own flower on it.

Over time, the drawing will grow more and more, shaping a lush and colourful garden. The pieces symbolise life and nature’s energy.

Artist Dang hails from a scientific background. Convinced of the need to raise awareness about the potential of environment-friendly technologies and sustainable development, he developed his artistic creation, often incorporating solar energy as a source into his kinetic art works.

Through his work, he contributes by educating the general public on contemporary themes which represent a major challenge for the future. Dancing Solar Flowers work have become an iconic work depicting the commitment of the artist.

The exhibition runs until May 5 at Heritage Space, Dolphin Plaza Building, No 6 Nguyen Hoang Street, Ha Noi. — VNS
