DAK LAK — The Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Dak Lak is ready for the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival which will begin tomorrow (March 9), according to its Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Organised in Buon Ma Thuot City and Buon Don and Lak districts, the biennial festival will have a coffee exhibition, street festival, and elephant and boat races. It will include a Tay Nguyen cuisine competition and a photo exhibition about the 44th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot victory.
For the first time, the province will organise a Vietnamese specialty coffee competition and an exhibition about global coffee history, and open a Buon Me Thuot coffee book street at the festival. The festival will end on March 16.
Dak Lak, the country’s largest coffee producer, has many tourism sites and a diverse culture of more than 40 ethnic minorities. The sites include Yok Dong National Park, Lak and Ea Kao lakes, Don Village with domestic elephants, and the palace of Viet Nam’s last king, Bao Dai. — VNS
