THUA THIEN-HUE — Russia’s folk dance troupe “Siberian Patterns” will come to Viet Nam to perform at the 2018 Hue Festival scheduled from April 28 to May 2 in the ancient capital of Hue, according to the event organisers.
Founded in 1995, the ensemble — a member of the international dance committee of UNESCO — is expected to bring unique folk dances.
Earlier French beatbox band Berywam and rock band Lysistrata and Slovakian folk ensemble Urpin had confirmed their participation.
Themed “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development”, the 10th edition of the festival is poised to invigorate cultural exchanges with other countries and promote the image of Hue as a city with historical values and world-recognised cultural heritages.
The city is pinning high hopes that the event, featuring a street carnival, an international food festival and a hot air balloon show, will attract tourists from home and abroad.
Thua Thien-Hue Province has set a target of 4.2 million visitors this year, with foreigners making up 40-45 per cent of this number.
