Artists depict other artists in Hue portrait exhibition

HUE — An exhibition featuring portraits of artists and writers by three veteran painters, Dinh Cuong, Hoang Dang Nhuan, and Phan Ngoc Minh, is attracting art lovers in Hue.

The 40 works on display include 21 oil paintings by Cuong.

For fans of music and poetry, portraits of the late, composer Trinh Cong Son and poets Buu Chi, Bui Giang, Ngo Kha, and Thai Ngoc San are the highlights.

Using vibrant colours, Cuong captures the souls of his models.

The Hue-based Nhuan has five works on acrylic, featuring the beauty of Hue people.

The 58-year-old artist and owner of Chieu E Gallery, who believes his love for painting will help him live longer and healthier, said: "For me, painting is a game of colours."

The event also features sketches by Minh, a son of Da Nang.

The exhibition is on until next Tuesday at Chieu E Gallery, 89 Minh Mang Street, Hue city.
