HA NOI — The National Team’s Badminton Championship is in progress in Thai Nguyen Province with the participation of nearly 90 players.
Among 14 teams, eight are competing in the men’s category.
All the nation’s strongest players such as Nguyen Tien Minh of HCM City, Vu Thi Trang and Nguyen Thi Sen of Bac Giang, Le Thu Huyen and Do Hong Nam from Ha Noi are taking part in the tournament.
The first round of the event saw Ha Noi beating Da Nang 4-1 in the women’s category. On the men’s side, Public Security won 4-1 over Hai Phong and Bac Ninh defeated Thai Nguyen 3-2.
The third championship will have a purse of VND400 million to decide to winner.
Semi-finals and finals will be aired live on VTV6 from 2pm on Friday and Saturday. — VNS
