HÀ NỘI — Im Jae-yeon won the sixth stage of the International Cycling Tournament, the VTV-Tôn Hoa Sen Cup, yesterday.
Im of Korail Cycling Team triumphed in the 162km stage from Quảng Bình to Huế in a time of 3:34.36.
El Joshua Carino of Philippines Navy Standard and Alexander Cools of Global Cycling Team were the runners-up.
After six stages, Im has the yellow jersey for the leader with a total time of 12:05.18. He also holds the green jersey for best sprinter with 86 points.
The white jersey award for best young cyclist is worn by Quàng Văn Cường of Lộc Trời Group.
Today, cyclists will compete in the seventh stage from Huế to Hội An City, lasting 132km.
The event, held by Việt Nam Television, the Việt Nam Sports Administration and the Việt Nam Cycling and Sport Motors Federation, will finish in HCM City on September 16.
The event, which attracted six Vietnamese teams and six foreign teams competing over 14 stages covering 1,800km, has total prize money of VNĐ1 billion (US$43,000) and the winner will pocket VNĐ120 million ($6,500). — VNS
