Contemporary art market opens

HA NOI — Some 20 art works by nine noted contemporary artists will be available for sale at Atum Atum, an event kicking off a series of activities hosted by the organisation Real Art.

The artists displaying their work include Vu Tan Dan, Tran Luong, Truong Tan, Le Quang Ha and Russian American artist Leonid Tsetkov

The event will be held at the Hanoi Creative City, 1 Luong Yen Street, till October 9.

Late painter Vu Tan Dan was among three Vietnamese artists to join the Asia-Pacific Contemporary programme in 1996 and 1997. Several of his works have been collected in countries like France, New Zealand, Australia and Germany, as well as Finland, Japan, the United States and Singapore.

Tran Luong has been a pioneer in Viet Nam’s art community. His works have been showcased among the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in the United States, the Singapore Art Museum and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan.

Painter Leonid Tsetkov has participated in various big events at art museums in the United States, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. — VNS
