HCM CITY — A 200-episode "real time" documentary that explores the geography, history and beauty of many places in the country will start filming in a few days.

Entitled ‘Doc Duong Dat Nuoc' (Along the Country), the unscripted documentary will go along the main land and sea routes in the country.

The first section, which consists of 100 episodes of 15 minutes each, will travel through 30 provinces along National Highway 1, from Km 0 in the northern province of Lang Son bordering China to Km 2,236 in the southernmost province of Ca Mau.

The second section is a voyage by sea that will explore 27 coastal provinces from Quang Ninh in the Bac Bo (Tonkin) Gulf to Kien Giang in the Gulf of Thailand.

"We have altogether four film crews who will set out in different directions for filming," said Nguyen Quang Hiep, deputy director of Binh Duong Television, which is managing the project along with the Ha Long Media Company.

Consultants for the project include historians and scholars like Le Van Lan, Duong Trung Quoc, Phan An and Huynh Ngoc Dang.

The documentary, with an estimated investment of VND10 billion (US$478,000), will be aired on Binh Duong Television's BTV1 and 15 other provincial channels in September. — VNS
