HA NOI — Individuals and agencies who made outstanding contributions to Vietnamese music last year will be recognised at an award ceremony to be held at the HCM City Opera Theatre early next month.
The sixth Music Contribution Awards, organised by The Thao&Van Hoa (Sports&Culture) daily and Le Bros Company, aims to recognise the best singers, musicians, music albums, shows and programmes of the year.
The entries are judged by around 100 journalists, who specialise in cultural and musical fields.
The nominees are:
Album of the year: 1. Bay Gio Bien Mua Dong (Now Winter Sea) (Duc Tuan) 2. Bo Doi (Soldiers) (Thai Thuy Linh) 3. Cocktail (Ha Anh Tuan) 4. Li Ti (Tiny) (Tung Duong) 5. Nhung Tinh Khuc Phu Quang (Love Songs by Composer Phu Quang) (Tan Minh).
Programme of the Year: 1. Dieu Con Mai (What Remains Forever) (VietnamNet) 2. Ngon Lua Cao Nguyen (Central Highland Fire) (Y Moan) 3. Sao Mai Diem Hen (Morning Star Rendezvous) (Viet Nam Television) 4. Viet Nam Idol (VTV) 5. Yeu (Love) (Thanh Lam&Tung Duong).
Musician of the Year: 1. Luu Thien Huong 2. Mai Khoi 3. Le Cat Trong Ly 4. Nguyen Hai Phong 5. Huy Tuan.
Singer of the Year: 1. Tung Duong 2. Thanh Lam 3. Uyen Linh 4. Ha Anh Tuan 5. Duc Tuan.
Last year Duc Tuan was named Singer of the Year and his work Music of the Night was Album of the Year. Musician Ho Hoai Anh was awarded Musician of the Year. Singer Dam Vinh Hung's show Nguoi Tinh was named Programme of the Year. — VNS
