QUANG NINH — Quang Ninh’s People’s Committee has approved the spending of VND180 billion (US$7,857 million) on upgrading the grand stand and re-decorating function rooms of Cam Pha stadium in order to host big international football events, said Do Khanh Tung, deputy director of the provincial culture and sports department on May 22.
The stadium will host a game of the V-League at the beginning of June. Cam Pha stadium will upgrade grandstand A and B, followed by the addition of 7,000 seats.
At present, the capacity of the stadium is 13,000, which is expected to increase to 20,000 by December.
The department also cooperated with the provincial football joint stock company to host Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 football games from December 8 to 18, and the national futsal champs at the end of November at Cam Pha stadium. — VNS
