HA NOI — An exhibition of arts and crafts is on display at the Korean Cultural Centre in Ha Noi, featuring 60 objects made of diverse material.

The exhibits were made by a group of 21 Korean artisans set up in 2008 in South Korea to introduce Korean traditional handicrafts.

The artists, led by Han Hyang-lim, are in Viet Nam for the exhibition, which will run until December 4.

Sixty fine arts and crafts items made of ceramic, porcelain, fabric, wood, paper, stone and metal depict things in daily life, such as apples, card holders, necklaces and lamps.

They were made in the traditions of folk art passed down through generations in Korea, said Hyung Keum-gi, director of the centre. They represented very sophisticated, skilful and fine Korean craftsmanship in traditional materials,

The works are particularly interesting for Vietnamese people who share many similarities in culture, said artist Park Mi-hwa. — VNS
