HA NOI — Nguyen Duc Tuan and Nguyen Thi Nga won gold medals at the National Top Table Tennis Players Tournament, which ended on December 20 in Hai Duong Province.
Tuan came from behind to defeat Doan Ba Tuan Anh, both from the host province (9-11, 15-13, 11-6, 11-8) to take the men’s singles title.
Nga from Ha Noi overcame Phan Hoang Tuong Giang of the Ministry of Public Security (11-3, 13-15, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9) to take gold for the second time in her career. Her first national title was in 2016.
The tournament is held annually. This year, 36 athletes from seven cities and provinces took part in the competition. — VNS
